Leggings and where to buy them

Every sports activity requires some sort of sports wear but more and more people are wearing funky leggings for day to day wear, i see them on the school run, i see them out shopping and i see them when i'm running or at the gym, I only wear them when i'm exercising but i had a small variety now that may help you find the ones that are right for you.

Firstly lets start with Fabletics, we've all seen the add '2 pairs for £24' which sounds like a great offer however.....that's only for VIP members who sign up to a £44 monthly credit account, the extras are great and of course you could sign up for the first month, get your 2 pairs and then cancel but it's by phone only and i found it quite a faff, the leggings are very thick, there isn't much give in them so if you're between sizes you may want to order 2 sizes and then trial them and exchange the pair that aren't right, these were great for runnings on cooler days and really felt nice however....i wouldn't recommend these as casual wear, they roll down when you sit down, they are a tight fit but not a second skin fit because the zips and pockets are constantly pressed against your skin, all in all they're great for outdoor sports but not yoga or relaxing.

Next up i tried Lucy Loves Locket, i went for the 8-14 casual range because i have a long walk to nursery most days and didn't want an active pair since i have to change bums, give cuddles and take a slow walk back when little legs are tired they weren't a bad fit at all and the white showing through from under the print was minimal, they were soft and comfy and stayed up fine, the only problem i have is after 2 washes and 2 wears i'm finding slight rubbing on the thighs is leading to bobbling so i'm not sure they're a wear for a year kind of pair.

Then i tried Kukubird, the designs these guys have is awesome, however....the fit is small, i'm a 12 and the standard 8-14 pairs are tight on me, they roll down and the white showing is quite abit worst than any other pair, they're stunning in design and just like the LLL they're soft and comfy but i think the sizing is off and the curvy would of been too big so these are a perfect pair for when i've lost all the weight i need to but not so great for now.

Next is Kizzy leggings, I admit that i don't have any Kizzy leggings however i've heard good things, seen some lovely styles and i'm looking forward to buying some, i've heard they are exactly like LLL so hopefully they're just as nice when they arrive, if you follow their facebook page they often post discount codes and end of line sale stock

Then we have Funky Fit, now the only FF i have are handed down and to be honest a little worn out however! they're still super comfy for around the house and for walking the dog so i'm definitely going to be buying more soon <3 they have a valentines offer on to be matched up with your perfect pair of leggings which is super cute so i may be giving that a go. The variety in colours and patterns is great and they are super involved with customers online which is so nice to see.

Lastly is 'be your happy place' i have a pair of their pre order leggings on the way to me next month, i have a friend who loves their leggings but i haven't tried any, the fabric and high waist band look like they'll suit my bike rides and running perfectly so i'm looking forward to them turning up.

Anyway that is where i've been looking and buying from recently, let me know if you know of any other awesome places to find leggings, what the fit is like and how you found the casual vs active wear.

Sadly no photos today, i'm already a day late with this post and in the midst of the start of school holidays so i'm in the middle of mass cleaning which doesn't leave time for getting the camera out today but if you hope over to my insta you'll see various photos of me wearing them on my runs.

Weight-loss and healthy living - the start of my journey

We all know that in January you'll see no end of claims about a new pill that aids weight loss or a new drink that can help you shed 50lbs in a day but is any of it actually real? Is it worth putting your body through something short term for results that may no last or actually be worth the cost and effort.

I decided there was no point in trying to get on a health kick during January because i simply can't eat 4 tubs of chocolates in the 6 days between christmas and new years, no matter how much i might try!

So i decided to start shopping for what i needed in January and have it all together for February, I did a ton of research on the benefits to certain vitamins and supplements that would suit what i wanted to fix like my lack of oomph in a morning or my really low mood a few times a month, then i looked at exercise and what i could do to help motivate me.
Finally i looked at food and drink intake, did i want a diet, a meal replacement or something else entirely.

The only other thing i could do to change anything was clothing, i didn't have the right stuff for any sort of exercise in the right sizes or even close because i'd got to the biggest i'd ever been.

Tomorrow i'll be posting a tons of links to places to find the right gear for the job, including any sales they have on and any feedback i can give on size/fit and durability.

Please remember that the best way to buy is In store, if you cannot get to a launch then online is the next best step but telephone should be a last ditch attempt, many stores are run by a small number of staff who have to deal with in store customers, then online orders and finally answering the phone so until at least 2 hours after the launch i would try all other means before trying the phone lines.

Where i'm shopping this month - Wonderland awaits and Ilovethe50s

This month has seen my biggest purchase of IC shoes and collectif clothes in forever, with the big family reunion from Irregular Choice and Collectif starting their summer sale i've way over spent but i love every single thing and i won't have another blow out like this for another 12 months so below i'm listing two more shops that i'm recommending you check out because they are awesome and we need to support small businesses.

Firstly is Wonderland Awaits, these are a small shop in Doncaster that stock everything from 50's clothing to pin badges and down to shoes, they don't just stock Collectif or Irregular choice they also stock many other brands that are worth checking out.
I recently placed an order for a pair of shoes, a bag and a badge in their last sale but the service was perfect, they were responsive to messages, super helpful with purchasing and my order came super fast and packaged beautifully, i highly recommend them as one to check in on especially if you want a more personal service than just clicking some buttons and whipping out your bank card.

No photo description available.

Website: www.wonderland-awaits.co.uk
Address: french gate, DN11QQ

Next up is Ilovethe50s.com, they are online only but the customer service is second to none, every message was replied to quickly, the company is run by a 1 woman team and she is a super woman to keep everyone happy the way she does, on facebook groups and the online community everyone has something positive to say about her, she has a wide range of clothing and accessories and i've got the site bookmarked as a favourite so i can check if she has stock of something before i buy from big stores <3 go check out the site and buy stuff!!

Website: www.ilovethe50s.com
Online only

Check out the cheeky up to 60% sale they have on right now, i've just nabbed myself another bargain.

I'll be blogging about 2 more shops next month along with a list of who has a sale on for the summer, discount codes and images on my hauls <3

Roll up Roll up, the big family reunion is about to happen

If you love irregular choice you'll love the upcoming event this Friday the 31st of May
To celebrate their 20th anniversary Irregular choice have been releasing old 'new' shoes every Friday during the month of may, so far we've seen the likes of Bloxy and Rocko return but the last weeks release always needed to be something extra special and they have not disappointed ladies and gents.

To help you guys know exactly where to be on the day of release i've put together a list of stockists in the UK who will be selling these delights for you to get your mitts on, Please remember that this is an event day so stores will be busy, phone lines will be jammed and the websites may freeze so have your back up plans in place before hand.

Of course Irregular Choice themselves will be stocking the shoes
You can go in store to the following however i do not recommend trying to place phone orders here, the stores get so busy they normally have a 2 hour after launch rule so you could find you miss out whilst trying to get through.

Carnaby street, London  02074944811
Bond street, Brighton 01273777120

I hope this helps some of you find your perfect shoes in the sizes you need, don't forget some people will order 2 sizes to make sure they get the right ones so if you don't get your pair on the day make sure you check back for returns.

I'm hoping to be in the queue to get my lovely shoes on the day but i'll update 24 hours after the launch with who has what left.

Edit: I've edited the stores to include phone numbers for you to check any remaining stock and sizes, a week after the launch 2 of the IC stores still have the most popular sizes in the Unicorns so it's worth calling them as they post out.

Tuesday Shoesday (on a Wednesday) - Mal e Bow

Today we come back to an old favourite, my first 'collection' of my whole collection if you will, Mal e Bow.

With a gorgeous bow on the front and a 9.5cm heel on the back these really do give you that princess feel that we all want from heels, they come in every colour possible and are just so versatile that you can wear them with just about anything.
I fell in love with these so long ago and after hitting 16 pairs of the same shoe started to cut back a little to those i wear the most but i will never lose my love for these shoes.

With this particular coulor way the heel is so sparkly the pictures really do not do it justice, also the bow is such a soft almost satin feel it really does balance the shoes perfectly, the spots are almost reflective so you have to get them in the light to be able to really see them so they are like two shoes in one.

For me this style of shoe is a classic, i will continue to buy various colour ways in this shoe because if the shoe fits you buy it in every colour right? of course there will be people that can't do high heels or don't do bows but if you love both these are a definite winner.
