Leggings and where to buy them

Every sports activity requires some sort of sports wear but more and more people are wearing funky leggings for day to day wear, i see them on the school run, i see them out shopping and i see them when i'm running or at the gym, I only wear them when i'm exercising but i had a small variety now that may help you find the ones that are right for you.

Firstly lets start with Fabletics, we've all seen the add '2 pairs for £24' which sounds like a great offer however.....that's only for VIP members who sign up to a £44 monthly credit account, the extras are great and of course you could sign up for the first month, get your 2 pairs and then cancel but it's by phone only and i found it quite a faff, the leggings are very thick, there isn't much give in them so if you're between sizes you may want to order 2 sizes and then trial them and exchange the pair that aren't right, these were great for runnings on cooler days and really felt nice however....i wouldn't recommend these as casual wear, they roll down when you sit down, they are a tight fit but not a second skin fit because the zips and pockets are constantly pressed against your skin, all in all they're great for outdoor sports but not yoga or relaxing.

Next up i tried Lucy Loves Locket, i went for the 8-14 casual range because i have a long walk to nursery most days and didn't want an active pair since i have to change bums, give cuddles and take a slow walk back when little legs are tired they weren't a bad fit at all and the white showing through from under the print was minimal, they were soft and comfy and stayed up fine, the only problem i have is after 2 washes and 2 wears i'm finding slight rubbing on the thighs is leading to bobbling so i'm not sure they're a wear for a year kind of pair.

Then i tried Kukubird, the designs these guys have is awesome, however....the fit is small, i'm a 12 and the standard 8-14 pairs are tight on me, they roll down and the white showing is quite abit worst than any other pair, they're stunning in design and just like the LLL they're soft and comfy but i think the sizing is off and the curvy would of been too big so these are a perfect pair for when i've lost all the weight i need to but not so great for now.

Next is Kizzy leggings, I admit that i don't have any Kizzy leggings however i've heard good things, seen some lovely styles and i'm looking forward to buying some, i've heard they are exactly like LLL so hopefully they're just as nice when they arrive, if you follow their facebook page they often post discount codes and end of line sale stock

Then we have Funky Fit, now the only FF i have are handed down and to be honest a little worn out however! they're still super comfy for around the house and for walking the dog so i'm definitely going to be buying more soon <3 they have a valentines offer on to be matched up with your perfect pair of leggings which is super cute so i may be giving that a go. The variety in colours and patterns is great and they are super involved with customers online which is so nice to see.

Lastly is 'be your happy place' i have a pair of their pre order leggings on the way to me next month, i have a friend who loves their leggings but i haven't tried any, the fabric and high waist band look like they'll suit my bike rides and running perfectly so i'm looking forward to them turning up.

Anyway that is where i've been looking and buying from recently, let me know if you know of any other awesome places to find leggings, what the fit is like and how you found the casual vs active wear.

Sadly no photos today, i'm already a day late with this post and in the midst of the start of school holidays so i'm in the middle of mass cleaning which doesn't leave time for getting the camera out today but if you hope over to my insta you'll see various photos of me wearing them on my runs.

Weight-loss and healthy living - the start of my journey

We all know that in January you'll see no end of claims about a new pill that aids weight loss or a new drink that can help you shed 50lbs in a day but is any of it actually real? Is it worth putting your body through something short term for results that may no last or actually be worth the cost and effort.

I decided there was no point in trying to get on a health kick during January because i simply can't eat 4 tubs of chocolates in the 6 days between christmas and new years, no matter how much i might try!

So i decided to start shopping for what i needed in January and have it all together for February, I did a ton of research on the benefits to certain vitamins and supplements that would suit what i wanted to fix like my lack of oomph in a morning or my really low mood a few times a month, then i looked at exercise and what i could do to help motivate me.
Finally i looked at food and drink intake, did i want a diet, a meal replacement or something else entirely.

The only other thing i could do to change anything was clothing, i didn't have the right stuff for any sort of exercise in the right sizes or even close because i'd got to the biggest i'd ever been.

Tomorrow i'll be posting a tons of links to places to find the right gear for the job, including any sales they have on and any feedback i can give on size/fit and durability.
