Blog sale

So i'm borrowing a page on the blog to put all of the make up bits up so i can drop links to pages instead of listing every item on every page i'm on, it will include items seen on my blog and others not seen, we did a wedding spread sheet last night and it turns out we're a little short of time to get saving more money so i decided instead of spending more money on make up bits i'd sell off some of my current unused/slightly used stuff and use the money to get my other wedding make up :)

Scholl Velvet smooth pedi

The box on the left here contains my recent MUA order, the box on the right was my Scholl Pedi, i'm a member of the BZZ team and they send out items to get reviews on (on other sites not blogs) and i'm always super excited to get my box because i never actually read up what's in the kit they are sending.

So i was super excited to open up my box and get the machine plus 3 bottles of intense serum and some money off vouchers, i'd planned to grab a quick shower just after i got in and looked forward ot trying this out, i'd seen it advertised on the tv alot and wanted to know if it lived up to it's claims.

If you went to purchase it, it comes like this ^^ it does have a lip to cover the sand paper bit but it's basically just one single standing unit, i had to unscrew the bottom and remove a cover to the batteries but after that it was up and running.

The Serum is a separate purchase, i thought 30ml was quite a small bottle but it's a very light serum so you don't need a lot where as with cream you normally need a bigger dollop (i'm hoping dollop is a int. word)

So i got my new toy out, and it's basically a sand paper roll that rotates, it's weighty but not too heavy, you can't add too much pressure of the roll stops going around but it applies enough friction to really get rid of hard to shift dry bits and made my feet really soft, i've always sworn by a daily foot cream but with this i recon bi daily and a touch of serum would be enough to keep your feet summer ready.

I'd totally purchase this item if i didn't already have it and currently it's on offer in a few places, there are a few of us Bzz'ers that also have some £10 off vouchers to give out if anyone wants one.

MUA haul

So this was this weeks Haul and i'm actually banning myself after next month from buying in bulk as i find i'm buying more things i already have and it's not helping my bank balance or the space in our house!
So i went for lunch with some family and needed to look half decent so i tried out some new bits :)

I'm new to the world of eyelid and face primers but i'm in love, they help so much and are so worth it, i used benefit's stay don't stray which was great but i checked out some reviews and found MUA did their own which a lot of make up artists were raving about.
It goes on like a cream eye shadow but blends into your skin tone, i used a light shade and it blended i great, i found it also stops my eyelids from being so oily.

The stick applicator is helpful but make sure all of your previous make up is off otherwise you may end up mixing it all into the tube and no one wants that.

Then i used the MUA palette, i love the mix of shades and the difference between sheen and matte in this one, it's great for any occasion and the dark brown is lovely as you don't get many of those in most palettes.

I used shade 1 from the top line and 3 and 5 from the second line, i didn't apply it very heavily and used quite a soft fine brush but i'm sure they could give a heavy smokey look if applied right.

I also picked up this pink/dusky lipstick, again by MUA which are all £1 and come in so many lovely shades, i went for a pink as it's spring and i don't normally push the boat out much with colour unless it's red.
So this is the result of my MUA bits plus estee lauder double wear foundation and an old Avon blush

then then i brushed my brows, added a little eyeliner and some mascara and i was on my way :) I don't have great skin and i'm always looking for helpful products which i feel the MUA lipstick, primer and palette are, there's no smudging, wearing or reapllying needed (except my lips which i did every 2-3 hours)

I'll definitely be buying more MUA bits in the coming weeks

This weeks Haul

It's a small haul and a short post.
I got my MUA order through at the same time as my Velvet smooth pedi from Scholl, i'm off into Nottingham next week to check out superdrugs new range of make up and into Mac to pick up some bits, i'll also be off to john lewis to use my vouchers and i got another amazon voucher today so more haul next week :)

I'll be reviewing the Scholl shortly and a full page on MUA make up to come :)

More Storage

So when i was a little girl my nannar Chris gave me an Avon box and it had various bath bits in and a snowman soap, when everything was used up it became my nail varnish box, for several years now it's taken the weight of my growing collection and after much thought i finally decided that i needed to get something else for my polish.
In comes a much loved bidding site and 2 days later this arrives....

It's acrylic and boring looking but it boasted about holding 30 bottles so i filled it up :)

And i got 37 on it, i assume if they were all round like the Nails inc bottles it would have been less but i was pleased with the amount i could fit on.

The shelves are quite deep and i picked this one over others due to the raised lip on the front, as our rooms are all wooden floors and the furniture does shake a little when we walk near to them so i didn't want to be picking up bottles that had fallen off every few hours.

All in all i'm really please with my less than £8 purchase and will be picking another one up soon so empty some more of my old box.

Helmer make up storage

I picked up a Helmer storage unit recently from Ikea, my previous draws were old and slightly broken as well as being a grey and black plastic so weren't so pretty in the bedroom, the Helmer set me back £25 which i though was reasonable and comes in cream, silver and red, it wasn't easy to set up but then i find flat packs hard work anyway.
Once set up it came with little white cards to label the draws but they easily fall out so i'm not using them anymore, i also left the wheels off my unit, the draws are deep enough to stand up lots of bottles and tubs up in, they are wide and smooth gliding, all in all it's a winner.

I used my 5 year old to show you the size as i'm rubbish with measurements, it's metal and not what everyone wants but for me it's something suitable for my growing collection of make up, i'll look out for a taller draw one for my toiletries.

Pix! succulent lip twin

I'm new to the pix! world but i'm glad i found it, i picked up the succulent lip twin a little while ago and ended up with a colour i'd never of bought for myself, i faced my demons and try on the coral shade and it was really nice, it wasn't really me but the shade wasn't as terrible as i'd always thought it was.

I've always stayed away from pinks and corals because i though only blondes could pull off those kind of colours but after trying this i've found a new love for pink tones :)

The lip twin comes with a hard lipstick on the top with it's own lid, if you then unscrew the whole top it reveals a hole for the gloss to come out of. The upside is there is plenty of it and it's not sticky, it doesn't bleed and it's a lovely thick colour, the downside is it's a round stick so it's hard to apply to the bow of the lip and the gloss doesn't really have an applicator, just a hole to come out of.

All in all it's a great idea but it needs some work to be a better product.

Lite Sprites

We have been on a hunt for a night light for our little one since she out grew the plug in winnie the pooh light from when she was a baby.
I'm against lamps in childrens rooms that are within reach and as a short woman putting it on the wardrobe isn't an option, since all it takes is for a child to fall asleep and knock the duvet or toys onto lamps and they can melt and catch fire so easily now days due to cheaper plastics and toys from china not carrying the safety needed i didn't want to go down that route.
So i logged onto the tesco online site a few days ago and went searching for some gift sets on offer when the usual 'customers who bought this also purchased' and found a Lite sprite, with the site they affiliate from other company's so i can collect from Tesco and even get club card points but it's actually on sale from other places.

On the website photo's i expected them to be around 2 inches so i purchase 4 of the 5 (one was out of stock) at £2 each reduced from £8.99 each and thought about hanging them above Evie's bed.
I ordered them via the direct seller (the entertainer) and collected from store for free instead of the delivery charge as i was going into town anyway.
When i got them i was advised they didn't come with batteries so purchased 2 packs of 6 watch batteries as they need 3 each.

When we got home with some other bits too we unwrapped the goodies, i think i was more excised than Evie at this point :) they were actually much bigger than i thought at around 4 inches for the doll and 5.5 inches for the stand and they did come with batteries so that was an unnecessary expense thanks to the staff in store, they were heavily packaged which is a shame but once out we set them up on their stands.
We got blue, yellow, black and green, pink was out of stock and they all had unique stands with little hooks, there weren't any lose bits or bits to choke on which is a plus and they all turned on easily and ready to use.
You can't see it very well but they are on in the below picture, they aren't too bright and in your eyes but bright enough to look like fairies in the sky.

They do have pros and cons, the pros are....they each light up a different colour, if you click the on switch in they change to 3/4 other colours so they could all be set to green or all to blue or any comination you wanted for the night, they also have a neat trick where if you click and hold the on switch on one, they all turn that colour, i'm not sure how they talk to each other but they do and it's cool!
The con is they only stay on for a few minutes, not ideal for a night light but they are ideal for us as we are at the bedtime toilet stage and at weekends Evie is allowed a dvd on, once we go to bed we wake her for a toilet trip and once she's back in bed, close her door but she doesn't like the dark so we now click these on and by the time they go out she's back to sleep.

I haven't yet set them up around her room and i've not read the instructions but i'll be updating this blog shortly with a night time picture to show how bright they are and more info on how they work.

Aprils Birchbox

This months Birch was a surprise, i didn't peak at the spoilers and i was pleased with the outcome.

I picked the colour club nail polish colour but i was a day late, thankfully i got the one i asked for but sadly i wish i'd ordered a different colour, it wasn't as opaque as i thought but that was my fault not there's.
(that's my other half's manky painted nail :D)
I'd look at the other colours but didn't like the shimmer of this one.

What 'bout them apples in 'pie' was a lovely little edition to the box, i'd never heard of it before and really liked it, normally i'm not a pink person it's either nude or post box red but this was a lovely tint which is great for summer.
I'd look at other tints or even this one in a larger packet from the balm cosmetics.
These little towelettes from yesto cucumbers where new to me, i've used cotton wipes, i've used baby wipes but these were inbetween and brilliant for a soft, soothing cleanse before bed.
You only get 10 in the travel pack and they carry a higher price tag than my 50p cotton balls and 49p baby wipes but they are great.
Laura Mercier is a well enough known name to appreciate this travel size tube of body cream, it's a whipped, creamy tube of loveliness, it smells great and does the job, it's a fab cream for straight out of the bath as it soaks into the body well.

Lord and berry are ones of those companys i've heard of and seen around but never tried, they sell products that i've already got and i don't like change however since this little black stick came into my life i'm enjoying the change, it's a smooth glide that doesn't snag on my wrinkled eyes, it's soft and doesn't hurt to apply like some pencils and it's a matt rather than sheen, i'd definitely keep this in my make up bag and use it often.

All in all i loved my BB from this month :) sometimes boxes are hit and miss and i worry i'll be stuck with items i don't want, need or like but BB hasn't let me down this month.
