Cocoa Runners

As i subscribed to BirchBox this month i was welcomed with a free Cocoa Runners box and boy was it a welcome :D

I got a welcome letter and a £5 money off voucher to share or use myself if i wanted to sign up for a subscription, the box was plain but for a world map on the lid.

Along the side where a section for information cards and a square chocolate piece, the share piece comes with a card and details on how to gain a free bar of chocolate, sadly we aren't told what bar this one comes from.

Inside the main box was 4 full size bars of chocolate, think green and black size.
they came wrapped in brown paper and fully foiled :) *drool*

Each bar comes with an info card which tells you where it came from, where it's made and what sort of taste it is, the packing

In with the info cards you also get a taste card which runs through how you should taste your chocolate, i'm sure like me most of you all chomp through it but apparently we've been doing it wrong.
The packs also came with descriptions on the chocolate and places chocolate comes from, this really is for those interested in chocolate and it's background :)

The first bar was a Dark 63% with combava and pink pepper, not my favorite and classed as 'bright and citrusy', it was sort of bitter and zingy but then i'm not a fan of pepper.

Next was a 67% organic bar, this was delicious and my favorite all round, it wasn't to heavy but curbed my sugar craving with just a few pieces.

The third was an odd one for me, it was a 60% dark bar but had 'nibs' in it, i thought they would be bits of crispy cereal but they were actually bits of cocoa bean, they were a little peanut skin textured but my other half really loved it.

the last one we opened was a 42% milk bar, it was creamy and yummy ans went down well with everyone, it's organic, light, melty yumminess had me craving more and i'd look out for this in stores.

All in all we loved the Cocoa Runners box, trying and tasting all the different chocolates from so many different parts of the world.
Having been online the cost of the box isn't something we can work into our monthly budget at the minute but i'd be happy to consider these for family gifts as a one off purchase and if we have a flush month.

I'd say have a look, buy a box and have a fun filled afternoon tasting and testing different chocolates yourself with the family over a dvd x
